I was very pleased to spend the day with my niece and taking her portraits. It is very rare that my niece and I have the opportunity to spend time together let alone spend time together with her being allowed to be all but herself! My thought for her photo session at first was really blurry. I had no idea what I could do for her. I was thinking about what her mother would like and what she would like and well, those are two totally different wants right there. I decided to just have a fun day with my niece and let her be purely herself so I went with it. I made her a preteen sized tutu made of pink, dark purple, and a black with green glitter colors. She loved it as did I! I asked her mom to get her some stripped socks and some punk converse and to my surprise some what; she actually rushed out and searched all over town for exactly what I asked for! Thanks to her mother we have the most awesome photos of my niece! They are truly her personality without any doubt. I had a blast and I honestly think she did to. My niece acted a little shy and embarrassed at the fact at first but towards the end of the photo session she was throwing me model poses left and right. I just ate it up! I LOVE kids and what better then a family member! When it comes to any aged kid under the age of TEEN I think it is good for them to dress and be able to express their personalities the way they want. It shows color and life in one's soul. It's just wonderful in my opinion. A few bi standards showed us some lovely face gestures towards her outfit, but it was all in good fun and childhood! After all, could you see an adult wearing a tutu, stripped socks to the knees, and pink converse? Dumb question lol! But I guess what I am trying to say is, could you see an adult dressed like that and respect them!? Any how, I love my niece, I love my job, and both of those things together made a great day; and pictures!
