. -Professional Portrait Photographer

Just what I needed-a photo shoot gone perfection! Today was wonderful, although I wish I didn't have to wake up so early haha, it was still great to be able to get out a do wonderful on a photo shoot. My last photo shoot, I'm not going to lie, I totally bombed it. I tried to do something that I wasn't use to and it bit me in the butt, majorly! Today's shoot just reminded me that I have to trust in myself and do what I do best!! Our day started with the ever so long commute. The drive was rather entertaining though. Our car was invaded by ants so the entire commute I was ant hunting. I lured them all in with a piece of candy that I had stashed in the glove box. Perhaps that's what they were after? One by one, the ants came. Nonetheless, I had to put the poor little buggys out of their minds...just couldn't risk them getting on the "scaredy-cat" driver. The weather was nice today, a little overcasted but overall breezy and beautiful. We bumped into a few dozen monarch caterpillars. A sports biker or too made their rude notions as we slightly got in THEIR way. What I would like to talk about in this blog besides the fact that the photo shoot was a success and that my model/client was brilliant in her photos; is that I am a mommy photographer. Being a mommy who is a photographer is not easy and I want to share how hard it really is and tell you about the things I have to go through just to do what I enjoy. When it's time to be a photographer that doesn't mean I get to stop being a mommy and leave my kids at home or at a daycare. They always come with me! How many career people do you know who take their children along with them to work? Inconvenient; extremely, yes! It's what I have to do. With family so far apart or busy with their own jobs, I can't really rely on anyone to watch my eldest son whom is 2, and with my lil {z} being only three months and a nursing baby, she is constantly with me. My work days usually start rather early; 6am. Feedings, baths, dressing, feeding again, diaper changes, cleaning up accidents, and so much more times two! By time I actually get to the photo shoot location it's time to do it all over again so, I always have to arrive a hour early. When I walk to my locations I usually have about ten things in my hands and a baby, and my husband has ten more things in his hands and a toddler. It is harder then it should be to take along the kids, but I honestly can not complain. I love showing my babies to work hard for something you love. I love sharing it with them as well. And-honestly, the babies are perfect little angels 90% of the time. They rarely are lil devils for me while I am working.....but let me tell you it takes a few hundred hours to get them that sweet and calm. It's all in the "before" show lol. I just wanted to share with people that it is hard and that I do have to bring my kids along BUT don't ever let something like that slow you down from following your dreams or doing what you love to do.

With all of that said. I will share a few shots from the photo shoot today. One last note. All of my clients from here on out will be receiving one small file picture for their facebook/myspace/etc.
So.....{N} here's a sneek peek....your photos will be in a gallery asap. Thank you so much for working with me today!!
