Family Portrait Session of Eight!!! -Family photographer (Sacramento,ca)

I was thrilled when one of my most recent newborn's family asked me back to do a FAMILY portrait...I don't mean the little mommy, daddy, sisters, brothers, type family...this was the WHOLE bundle of cousin within the family! It was a beautiful bunch of eight little ones ranging from seven and a half all the way down to newborn. At first thought I am sure you think, "OMG crazy!" and honestly I thought that too at the beginning, but the bunch was amazing compared to what I had prepared myself for. I gives all three mommies tons of kudos for be able to keep their heads on straight and staying happy as much as possible for the little ones. There were a few grumpies here and there, but nothing a few "french fries" and tickles cleared up. In the end....portrait sessions with children always end up with tantrums and "NO!"s....but I got a ton of cute shots for all three mommies and especially grandma KeeKee..(hope I spelled that right :).....) I hope to see you guys in the future. I had a wonderful time being with such beautiful little beings....I love children so much-they are just amazing!

Here is your Sneak Peek. Feel free to use it for your facebook if you'd like as long as you apply "AliciaGinesPhotography.com" to the caption. (All three mommies have permission) Enjoy!

"Just a SQUEEZE of lime please". -creative photographer (stockton,ca)

So, what DOES a professional photographer do on their "down" days......? Other then taking millions of beautiful portraits of my beautiful babies........we do things like THIS..............!

We tried some lime slices and then some extra hot chilies, wine glasses and water glasses...and a whole lot of love from our flashes. :) enjoy.

(Mason) Newborn Lifestyle Portrait Session. -newborn photographer (sacramento,ca)

I was overly excited to do this little guy's portrait since the day I found out his mommy was pregnant with him! I did mommy's Maternity Portraits and just had to get my hands on him for his portraits. This mommy has been a close friend of mine for many years and I couldn't resist doing this favor for her and capturing the sweet innocence of her brand new little love-bug. I was only able to get thirty minutes with this little guy, but well spent in my opinion. Newborns are so special and fragile...it takes HOURS of patience, practice, nursing/feeding, diaper changes YOU NAME IT...to get those perfect little sleepy faces in those out-of-the-ordinary spots.....so thirty minutes was a huge wow-factor! Here is a sneak peek of Newborn Mason. He looks so different from the first time I met him to know, he's already gotten so chunky and to top it all off he had such a little personality and LOVED my lights! :)

amature photographer to professional photographer. -Professional Portrait Photographer (stockton, ca)

Over the past year I have been pushed and I have pushed. Both between my husband and I we have grown a numerous amount with our skill and experience within the professional photography world. Webinars, seminars, meet-ups, tutorials, reading books, watching dvds, shadowing great professionals, trial and error, studying people, studying art, being in the "now" and in the "then"; there are so many ways that I have grown into the photographer that I am now....so many that I honestly can't even list it all. I think it's a very important part of my growing process to review what my photography looked like a year ago and compare it to what my photography looks like now. We don't want to just look at the "cover"..never judge a book or even a photograph just based on its cover. It's about quality, time, passion, the story, the moment it was taken and what you see in the photo, it's about personal professional photography...and never just about a nice looking photo.

So...I take you all with me on this little trek back in time to compare my past photography to my current photography.

Newborns

This was my very first newborn on the left...and on the right is my most recent newborn. I love the left and I think it looks good on the surface but when "I" look at it I know that when I took that shot I didn't know how to manage my flashes and I was working with both natural and studio lighting which worked against me. The photo on the right...I knew exactly what I was doing. The photo on the right is one of about twenty others I took. The photo on the left is one of one....that just isn't okay to not produce more lovely photos for a client.

maternity

The photo on my left was my very first maternity session and the photo on the right is my most recent maternity session. I have always been about natural features, never posing and the photo on the left was in the moment. However, I use to use white sheets as backdrops (GAG) and did a horrible edit job to it which completely ruins the photo. The photo on the right is all in the moment, exactly how the clients' personalities were, NO editing EVER, just a little style spalash! The photo on the left is much like my first newborn, I had no clue what I was doing or capable of with my flashes....and the photo on the right was a walk in wonderland :).

children

On the left is one of my first children portraits that I ever did. Sheets for backdrops, I had flashes but didn't know how to use them, and I wasn't as good with children and getting their personalities out of them as I am now. He was such a cute little guy and I didnt totally capture everything he was made of. As for the photo on the right I got !!!100s!!!!...of silly shots of this little guy being who he is as a little person...with quality and style attached.

portraits
This is a fun one. The photo on the right is lovely, but washed out. Overall, just a really bad b&w photo and it doesnt show exactly who and what she is made of. The photo on the right is ALL personality and style..and the utmost quality.

(Misty & Joe) Maternity Portrait Session. -Maternity Photographer (stockton, ca)

Where to begin!!! Well, I am more of a person who likes to focus on the better then the worse so, let's start there!! This little family-to-be was so loving! Such a breath of fresh air to see two people so madly in love and excited for there baby's arrival. Clearly a little on edge about being new parents...(it's okay ;) we have all been there)...I have no doubt that these two will be wonderful parents just based on their love for one another and the attention they gave each other! I had a blast. The photos are really cute!!! Even though the situation was a little less then what I had planned, I think it was a win-win! Having a horrible cold, my babies having colds, not having a babysitter, and then the venue being closed....I was pretty bogged down, but after meeting Joe and seeing Misty again; after having such a wonderful shoot that produced such beautiful memories for them...I couldn't be happier. And hey....venues re-open....and HEY!!...colds go away too!!...pregnant women are only pregnant for so long....So...with that all said...thank you for such a fun day, it did make me feel better :0) and here is your sneak peek..you may use it for Facebook...just copy and paste and put "AliciaGinesPhotography.com" in the caption.

(Hope) Newborn Portrait Session. -Professional Newborn Photographer (sacramento,ca)

This newborn session was amazing. As soon as mama answered the door I felt right at home. As soon as I toured their home I knew this was going be nothing short of WOW! I couldn't be more excited and thankful to have had worked with this family. The newborn was very sweet and just like butter :) very soft and squishy...does that make sense haha. The older sisters, almost five and three, were very good girls and so adorable and sweet as well. I was a tad worried since little girls that are around the age of five tend to be a little on the sassy side, but this particular one was sweet. As soon as she came home she greeted me with a hand-made card that had her name on it and stickers that say, "good job". Needless to say it'll go up on my work bulletin board :)! I had so much fun! This was my first session that I went solo on, without my assistant/hubby helping me out. I handled it all well, but I felt like it took away from my time with the family and my creativity....but, never once did I let it get to me and dampen my work-flow for the family. I am VERY happy with all of the photos and hope that I can work with them again in the near future; they were a dream!!

Thank you again for being so great ladies :) here is your sneak peek, feel free to copy and use this photo in your facebook or for emails just put in the captions, "AliciaGinesPhotography.com"
